Infineon is working with Adidas to develop a prototype shoe that listens to music

Infineon Technologies AG in cooperation with Adidas AG has developed a prototype Lighting Shoe equipped with high-tech sensors that perceive music and sounds from the environment, responding with various programmable lighting effects.

The Adidas originals NMD S1 smart shoe features microphones and microcontrollers that convert audio information into dynamic multi-colored LED effects

Thanks to the high-quality XENSIV MEMS microphones, the shoes are able to pick up the most subtle acoustic signals. An integrated PSoC microcontroller processes the input audio signal. The EZ-PD Barrel Connector Replacement (BCR) charges the shoes using USB-C Power Delivery (PD) combined with high-efficiency OptiMOS MOSFET power transistors.

The Adidas originals NMD S1 provides a perfect fit and has enough space to accommodate highly responsive technology components without sacrificing comfort. With this prototype, Infineon and Adidas demonstrated how technology can be combined with style.
