Causes of high PCB temperature

PCB temperature can rise for several reasons

1. Faulty components. Each component is selected based on performance. Due to the failure of one component, the load on other components increases, causing the PCB to overheat.
2. Component spacing. With high-density PCBs becoming an increasing priority, maintaining spacing between surface mount components and through-hole components is becoming a challenge for PCB designers. Components are spaced the same distance apart to allow current to flow smoothly and easily. If they are placed farther apart, the current will flow slower. In this case, the components receiving current may cool down and as a result, nearby components will have to compensate by overheating.
3. High-frequency circuits. The demand for high-frequency circuits is growing rapidly. These circuits are complex in design and are used in a variety of wireless applications. These types of circuits require high speed and tend to generate a lot of power. If the PCB is not designed with high power requirements in mind, it can fail due to overheating.
