AT&S to open first plant in Malaysia to produce substrates for high-performance chips

AT&S officially opened its first plant in Kulim, Malaysia on January 24, 2024.

The opening was attended by numerous guests from the world of politics and business. The new AT&S plant will produce substrates for microchip manufacturers.

In the near future, AI will revolutionize all aspects of society. "We will grow primarily in the high-performance computing segment. That is why we have been actively developing for many years and have opened a plant in Malaysia," said AT&S CEO Andreas Gerstenmaier. "We are proud to have built possibly the world's most advanced IC wafer fab in a short period of time and to provide enterprises with the technology and capacity they need in a timely manner."

Many analysts also reiterated AT&S's prediction that the market will shift upward in mid-2024. "We continue to believe that AT&S should be among the top three in the global market. Our medium-term forecast of €3.5 billion in revenue remains unchanged," Gerstenmaier summarized.
