Ansys and Sony collaborate on modeling next-generation automotive image sensors

Automotive image sensors are constantly evolving to provide safer and more functional ADAS capabilities.

Ansys has created a software interface compatible with Sony sensors that enables highly accurate virtual camera testing in a variety of non-standard scenarios, such as tunnel exit. According to the two companies, this collaboration reduces the need for specialized physical testing of cameras and, as a result, speeds up inspection times.

"The collaboration between Ansys and Sony facilitates rapid development and validation of camera performance for AV and ADAS systems," said John Lee, vice president and general manager of Ansys' Electronics, Semiconductors and Optics Division. "Working together enables more robust modeling, greater predictive accuracy, more accurate images and robust AV and ADAS applications."
