DIY Animal Feeder

When a cat or dog presses the correct key that triggers the right note, the feeder dispenses some food.

The musical pet feeder controls the process with an automatic repeater. You simply fill it with feed. The low-power ESP32 microprocessor from China's Espressif Systems processes the lessons and generates sound, which is output to a speaker via an amplifier module. The ESP32 and other components, including piano keys, are soldered onto a special circuit board. Since the ESP32 is equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the owner can receive information about their pet's progress via a smartphone.

In all seriousness, it is unlikely that even the smartest dog or cat will be able to memorize more than a few notes in a sequence. Most likely, they won't have the dexterity to press the right keys every time. So the result is likely to be a sound that sounds like a sack of potatoes being dropped on the keyboard, rather than beautiful music. But we'll never know for sure until we test it, so feel free to create one for your pet!
