ClickID - hardware and software solution for Click board identification

MikroElektronika (MIKROE) has introduced ClickID, a hardware and software solution for Click board identification using a microcontroller and a basic Linux operating system.

According to MIKROE, ClickID provides a new level of automation and self-diagnostics for embedded devices.

When integrated with the Click board in an embedded system, it facilitates more complex operations by allowing software to determine the configuration of the add-on board's peripherals.

The ClickID demo library is available for use in any MIKROE development system and demonstrates how to read, write and process data from the ClickID. In addition, the complete application code and finished projects can be easily installed from NECTO Studio packages, downloaded from LibStock or found on MIKROE's GitHub account.

For Linux-based systems such as BeaglePlay, ClickID makes it easy to add and operate peripheral add-on boards. ClickID communicates with the OS kernel via 1-Wire protocol to automatically recognize silicon chips on add-on boards. It transfers files to the OS, making it easy to load the appropriate drivers for interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, PWM, ADC.
