The SparkFun GPS-RTK GPS-RTK Dead Reckoning pHAT for Raspberry Pi offers multiple configuration options and utilizes u-blox Automotive Dead Reckoning (ADR) technology.
GPS-RTK provides highly accurate and continuous positioning by utilizing 3D IMU sensor, wheel ticks, vehicle dynamics model, correction data and GNSS measurements.
The SparkFun GPS-RTK Dead Reckoning pHAT is a 184-channel u-blox F9 engine GNSS receiver that receives signals from GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou constellations with an accuracy of ~0.2 meters. This accuracy can be achieved using RTK navigation combined with a correction source. GPS-RTK supports simultaneous reception of four GNSS systems. The combination of GNSS and the 3D sensors built into the device provides real-time positioning accuracy of up to 30 Hz.
The GPS-RTK Dead Reckoning pHAT also features a built-in rechargeable battery to power the RTC, reducing the time to first fix from cold start (~24s) to hot start (~2s). The battery keeps the RTC and GNSS orbital data running without power for extended periods of time. Note that the GPS-RTK Dead Reckoning pHAT requires an antenna for operation.
