A large robotic robot with tentacles

James Bruton has built a huge robotic tentacle arm. The joints allow the arm to rotate.

The robot has 3 joints and reaches a height of about 2.5 meters. It rides on huge wheels and is equipped with servos and a tentacle-like effector gripper. Bruton made the parts to create the robot himself, using plywood and 3D printed components.

The robot is controlled using a series of Arduino Mega 2560 boards, ODrive modules and ESP32 development boards for Wi-Fi, connectivity and remote control interaction. Each joint of the robot is controlled by a separate Arduino board that controls the motor and its position.

The Bruton Tentacle Robot has intuitive controls so that anyone, including children, can use it.
