The X4 single-board computer from Radxa is an alternative to the Raspberry Pi 5 and is powered by an Intel N100 processor instead of an ARM system-on-a-chip.
The X4 features four 64-bit cores, up to 8GB of RAM, quad-link PCI Express Gen. 3 and a 40-pin GPIO connector. It also features an M.2 M-key connector with four PCI Express 3.0 lanes for more peripheral connectivity. Externally, the X4 looks very similar to the Raspberry Pi 5, having the same ports and connectors.
On the back of the board is an Intel N100 processor that runs at up to 3.4GHz and Intel UHD Graphics integrated graphics up to 750MHz. Users can choose a model with 4GB or 8GB of RAM, as well as a model with an Ethernet controller that supports Power-over-Ethernet. The X4 also features Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5 radio (in the 4GB memory model), which has been upgraded to Wi-Fi 6 (in the 8GB memory model).
Radxa aims to compete with the Raspberry Pi 5 by offering its board at a more affordable price. The new X4 board sells on AliExpress for $60.63 for the 4GB memory model and $79.96 for the 8GB memory model.
